Winners of the Hollywood Film Awards 2018

The movies we love and the people behind them were honored at the 22nd annual Hollywood Film Awards. The event was held in Beverly Hills at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. It was another night of glitz and glamour as the stars shone bright. Here are the attendees and winners of the Hollywood Film Awards 2018.

Awkwafina

Awkwafina, star of Oceans 8 and Crazy Rich Asians, hosted the event on Sunday night. She dethroned James Corden for the role of emcee this time around.

Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman looked stunning as she arrived to the ceremony with her husband, Keith Urban. She was honoured with the Career Achievement Award. Her list of upcoming movies include Boy Erased, Destroyer, Aquaman 2018 and Goldfinch. Her portfolio of impressive performances and roles keeps increasing as she establishes herself as a Hollywood veteran.

Hugh Jackman

Hugh Jackman won actor of the year for his role in the American biographical drama movie The Front Runner. His previous performances have established him as a multi-talented individual who can not only act, but sing and dance as well.

Annie Starke and Glenn Close

Glenn Close, pictured here with daughter Annie Starke, was honoured with the Hollywood Actress Award for her role in the movie The Wife.

Damien Chazelle took home the Hollywood Director Award for the movie First Man starring Ryan Gosling. The riveting story is about Neil Armstrong and the extraordinary mission that marked a leap in mankind’s scientific and technological advancement.

Timothee Chalamet

Timothée Chalamet won the award for Supporting Actor in Beautiful Boy.

Rachel Weisz adds to her collection of awards and accolades this year by winning Supporting Actress of the Year for The Favourite.

Amandla Stenberg

Amandla Steberng rose to fame as Rue from The Hunger Games. She has since starred in various movies and delivered intense, moving performances. She won Breakout Performance Actress Award for The Hate U Give.

John David Washington, son of Denzel Washington, took home the Breakout Performance Actor Award for the movie BlacKkKlansman.

Felix Van Groeningen received the Hollywood Breakthrough Director Award. Yalitza Aparicio was bestowed with the New Hollywood Award.

DAN REYNOLDS and AJA VOLKMAN

Dan Reynolds is pictured here with his wife, Aja Volkman. The Imagine Dragons’ Mormon lead singer takes on the mission to learn about the treatment of the LGBTQ community by exploring the Church in Don Argot’s Winning Documentary, Believer.

Green Book won Ensemble of the Year and Peter Farrelly, Nick Vallelonga, Brian Hayes Currie took home Screenwriter of the year for the American drama-comedy movie as well. The movie takes us to the 1960s where an African-American pianist hires a working-class Italian-American bouncer as his driver.

Cast of Crazy Rich Asians

Crazy Rich Asians has been appreciated for breaking Asian stereotypes in Hollywood. The movie received the award for Breakout Ensemble.

Sophia Bush

Incredibles 2 won in the animation category. Pictured above is Sophia Bush, the voice actor for Voyd in the movie. The One Tree Hill actor expressed how exited she was when she first found out that she would get to be a part of The Incredibles.

Michael B. Jordan

Black Panther took home the Hollywood Film Award and Hannah Beachler won Production Designer of the Year for the movie as well. The Marvel film starred Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther and Michael B. Jordan as Eric Killmonger.

Avengers Infinity War

The summer blockbuster movie Avengers: Infinity War won the award for visual effects of the year. The spectacular installment had the audience in tears as it pulled hard on the heart strings of Marvel fans all around the globe.
